Drive to Madurai, one of the most lively and exotic temple cities in the south.
Day 05 : Madurai
The famous temple dedicated to the Goddess Meenakshi has 33 million sculptures to arrest your attention. The life of the temple is absolutely absorbing and many visitors find themselves drawn back at several different times of the day.
Day 06 : Thekkady (Periyar)
The Periyar Wildlife Reserve, centred on a vast lake, is home to elephants, sambar, wild pig, flying squirrel and over 260 species of birdlife. There is an option to take a boat ride on this lake to observe the rich wildlife.
Day 07 : Munnar
Set in dramatic mountain scenery, Munnar has some of the world's highest tea growing estates and forest that is still rich in wildlife.

Superb hike through the Rajamalai National Park with the tallest peak of South India, the Annaimudi (2,695m) in the background.
Day 09 : Kottayam
The road to Kottayam passes through tea and rubber plantations. Cardamom is grown in lightly shaded areas as is ginger, coffee and pepper. Kerala Backwater
Day 10 : Kerala Backwaters
A boat ride through the backwaters of Kerala. This journey affords a glimpse of a people whose life centres on the water as we cross shallow lakes and pass settlements along our route. Enjoy Kerala backwater travel, our day ends in Kochi.
Day 11 : Kochi (Cochin)
Time to explore Fort Cochin, the harbour and islands with so many reminders of the city's colonial past.
