History of Madhya Pradesh: - Madhya Pradesh is ruled by Mauryas, Guptas, Vakatakas, Kalchuris, Chandels, Parmars, Gonds, Mughals and Marathas. After 1820 the region was occupied by the British and known as the Central Provinces and Berar. With the States Reorganization Act of 1956, it was combined with several former states to form Madhya Pradesh State.

Day 01 : Reaching to Kanha
After reaching at Jabalpur/ Nagpur airport/ railway station, one has to take a bus to reach Kanha National Park.

Day 02 : Kanha National Park
Kanha's sal and bamboo forests, rolling grasslands and meandering streams stretch over 940 sq km in dramatic natural splendor. This is original Kipling country, of which he wrote so vividly in his Jungle Book. The same abundance of wildlife species exists today in Kanha National Park, which forms the core of the Kanha Tiger Reserve created in 1974 under Project Tiger. The park is the only habitat of the rare hard ground barasingha (Cervus Duvaceli Branderi).

By a special statute in 1955, Kanha National Park came into being. Since then, a series of stringent conservation program for the protection of the park's flora and fauna has given Kanha its deserved reputation for being one of the finest and best administered National Parks in Asia, an irresistible attraction for all wildlife lovers and a true haven for its animal and avian population.

For management purposes, the park is divided into 5 ranges: Kisli, Kanha, and Mukki in the western block, and Bhaisanghat and Supkhar in the eastern sector. These latter two ranges are closed off entirely to the public. Within Kisli, Kanha, and Mukki ranges, certain roads and areas are also closed to tourists. As of this writing (mid-1998), the percentage of the park's core area open to visitors (227 km2) is about 25%. The park is served by an extensive network (a little over 700 km) of generally well-maintained roads.

Day 03 : Departure from Kanha
After floating in the glory and wildlife elegance of Kanha, return to Jabalpur or Nagpur to catch a flight or train. Keep the adventure, pleasure and thrill in your heart throughout your way back to home.
